Description

Smooth, golden yellow to red skin, with inedible seed.Highly fragrant when ripe and will yield slightly to pressure. Soft melting, juicy flesh with a distinctive pleasant aroma. Some clingstone, some freestone and have a soft juicy flesh.

Selection, Storage & Handling

Choose fruit without blemishes and bruising. Ripen us in a fruit bowl. Ripe fruit will have yellow, red or orange colour at the stem end. Green fruit will not ripen properly as it has been picked when immature. Ripen at room temperature, may be kept under refrigeration for short time. Select those of us which are fragrant, firm, plump and richly coloured with smooth, glossy skin. Refrigerate ripe fruit in a sealed plastic bag. Use within 2-3 days.

Nutritional Value

Nectarines are a good source of vitamin A and C, they provide some vitamin B3, potassium and dietary fibre.
