Green, white or purple asparagus
A bright green, fleshy stalk or spear which are tender and succulent to eat. Approx. 18-25cm long and 1.5-2cm wide.
A very good source of vitamin C, a good source of vitamin E. It also contains dietary fibre and iron.
Select firm, crisp spears with compact tips and tight scales. The thickness of the spears has no bearing on tenderness. Thick spears are very tasty to eat and have a better shelf life than thin spears.
Store in an airtight bag in refrigerator crisper. Use as soon as possible after purchase.
