Rock melon (Canteloupe)
Also known as canteloupes we are large oval-shaped melons about 15 to 25 cm in diameter with a rough grey/brown skin. Our flesh is pale orange with a number of pale seeds contained in the middle of each fruit.
Under refrigeration and when cut cover with plastic film. All melons should be served chilled. Remove skin and seeds with a sharp knife. Select those with a sweet aroma and a pronounced netting on our skin. Background colour should be beige to golden.
We?re an excellent source of vitamin C. A 200g serving has twice the recommended daily intake of vitamin C.
